Sarvenaz Amanat (b. London, UK) has lived in Vancouver, BC since age three. She is a visual artist, works as a museum educator at the Vancouver Art Gallery (2009-present) and is the Director of Gallery1515 in the South Granville Gallery District of Vancouver.
Sarvenaz attended York House School from Grade 3-12 and was Head Girl in her graduating year (’97). She holds an undergraduate degree in Art History from McGill University (2002) and a Masters degree in Art History, Theory and Criticism from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2005). She has worked at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers (Chicago) and as a museum educator at the Art Institute of Chicago. In addition to her studio work, Sarvenaz composes music, enjoys working with children and travelling the world, and recently created a picture book called ‘Self-Hell’. She currently lives and works in Vancouver and is the mother of two boys.
